I have moved all the way from a shtetl called Pinsk in Poland. Finally, my life long dream has become a reality and I can live in the Jewish homeland. We still have some way to go to gain true political control, as the Turks currently have control over the land; and we have to actually buy land from the Arabs that live here! But there were already Jews that lived here when we arrived, which is encouraging. There are other small things which are so different from Poland. For starters, the weather is so different here in Palestine - I am glad there are no more freezing, bitterly cold winters like I grew up with in Poland. But some days are very hard - my friends and I never learnt how to work the land and be farmers in our lives! But this is what we must learn to live here. Is there anyone that has any tips for my friends and I who live in Rishon Letziyon?
Yours sincerely,
a new and proud Oleh :)
Jacob
